Explain the theme of wealth and poverty in the short story A horse and Two Goats by R.K.Narayan.

Muni and the American differ from each other most in their wealth. At the very outset, we learn how abjectly poor Muni. The American takes is so casual about his relative wealth that he almost unaware of the difference between Muni and himself. He casually offers a smoke to a man who has not smoked a cigarette in decades, complains about four hours without air conditioning to a man who has never had electricity, brags about enjoying the manual labour of cutting wood as a Sunday hobby to a man who probably put in noting but physical labour all his life in order to be able to survive. He ends up giving money to Muni without understanding what that meas to him. The American cannot be faulted to be trying to show off, but his casualness emphasizes the gap between him and Muni. The author has no intention for criticizing the man for being wealthy. All he wants to achieve is to bring out the difference in relative wealth of the two men.
